Fox Maxy
Fox Maxy is a Payómkawish and Mesa Grande Band of Mission Indians filmmaker based in San Diego, CA. Her first feature length film, Gush, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023. For 2022-2024, she is a Vera List Center Borderlands Fellow created by the New School, Parsons New York and Arizona State University. In 2022, Fox was awarded the opportunity to be the Sundance Institute’s Merata Mita Fellow. In 2020, COUSIN Collective supported the director with her first grant. Fox’s work has screened at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in NY, Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), ImagineNative Film festival, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), BlackStar Film Festival and Lincoln Center among other places. Currently she is working on her second feature film, watertight, a commission by COUSIN.
